Volunteering & Internships
Volunteering & Internships — Contribute, Learn, Grow
At LASRI, we believe that meaningful change is built by people from all walks of life. Whether you are a student seeking hands-on learning or a professional looking to contribute your skills on a voluntary basis, there is a place for you here. We offer two distinct pathways: volunteering (flexible, skill-based contribution) and internships (structured learning with mentorship).
Volunteer With LASRI
LASRI welcomes passionate individuals who want to contribute their time and skills to our research, advocacy, and field programmes. Volunteering offers a flexible way to make a tangible difference while gaining invaluable experience. Roles are available in both remote and field-based capacities, depending on the project.
Possible Volunteer Roles Include:
- Field Support: Assisting with community surveys, data collection, workshop facilitation, and event logistics.
- Content & Communications: Writing blogs, translating materials (Hindi/English), producing social media content, and providing digital support (website, data entry, documentation).
- Specialised Support: Offering legal, financial, or communication expertise to support our ongoing projects.
Who We Are Looking For: We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds — students, professionals, retired experts, or community members. What matters most is your commitment to social equity and your willingness to learn.
Commitment: Flexible, based on project needs and your availability (project-based or ongoing).
Location: Remote or field-based (with options for virtual participation).
Internship Programme
LASRI offers structured internships for students and young professionals who aspire to work in the social sector. Our internships are designed to be a transformative learning experience, where you contribute to live research while receiving close mentorship from our team of experienced researchers, many of whom are alumni of premier institutes like TISS.
Eligibility & Disciplines: Open to students and recent graduates from social sciences, law, public policy, development studies, environmental science, journalism, and allied fields.
What You Will Gain:
- Contribute directly to live research projects and field studies.
- Receive one-on-one mentoring from senior researchers.
- Develop practical skills in research methodology, report writing, and community engagement.
- Receive a formal certificate and a letter of recommendation upon successful completion.
Duration: 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on the project and your availability.
